Rapid visualization of latent fingerprints, preferably at their point origin, is essential for effective crime scene evaluation. Here, we present a new class green fluorescent protein chromophore-based dyes (LFP-Yellow and LFP-Red) that can be used real-time LFPs within 10 s. Compared with traditional chemical reagents LFPs, these are completely water-soluble, exhibit low cytotoxicity, harmless to users. Level 1-3 details the could clearly revealed through "off-on" fluorescence signal readout. Additionally, were constructed based on an imidazolinone core so do not contain pyridine groups or metal ions, which ensures DNA contaminated during extraction identification after treated dyes. Combined our as-developed portable system capturing LFP-Yellow LFP-Red enabled rapid capture LFPs. Therefore, probes provide approach individuals who scene.

Abstract Organic luminescent materials with time‐dependent emission colors show promising applications in the fields of chemical sensing, high‐resolution bioimaging, and high‐security information encryption. Herein a fluorescence system based on spirocyclic scaffold‐bridged cyanostilbene dimer ( SDCS ) as single component mixed CH 3 CN/H 2 O solvent is presented. Specifically, original orange‐emitting nanoparticles prepared from by reprecipitation can transform into green‐emitting nanosheets over time driven supramolecular self‐assembly. It worth noting that such transformation rate be controlled tuning water fraction. Based these unique properties, fluorescent binary codes are developed, enabling encryption higher level security. Moreover, dual color individually fixed solid matrices hydrogel or powder. The obtained powders successfully used two‐color imaging latent fingerprints. This work demonstrates use strategy to control multiple emissions single‐component for multifunctional applications.

For over a century, fingerprints have served as pivotal tool for identification of individuals owing to their enduring characteristics and easily apparent features, particularly in the realm criminal investigations. Latent (LFPs) are "invisible fingerprints" that most commonly available at crime scenes require rapid, selective, sensitive, convenient method detection. However, existing fingerprint development techniques harbour limitations, prompting exploration novel approaches prioritize investigator safety environmental sustainability. Leveraging unique photophysical properties aggregation-induced emission luminogens (AIEgens) has emerged promising strategy on-site analysis LFP visualization. In this highlight, we presented comparative various AIEgens (organic compounds, metal complexes, nanoparticles, polymers) detection LFPs. Through examination, insights into efficiency potential applications AIE-based provided. addition, several strategies been proposed circumventing limitations AIEgens. We hope highlight article will encourage more researchers investigate detection, contributing forensic science.
