Abstract Sustainable adhesives with simultaneous high strength and excellent ductility are important but still challenging. Here, an epoxy adhesive simultaneously strong, tough, sustainable features by designing a new hierarchical energy‐dissipated cross‐linking structure is reported: annular containing quadruple internal B─N coordination boronic esters (AQBN). Under small strain, the AQBN rigid to enhance tensile of adhesive. With medium strain applied, its non‐coplanar ring can orderly open, providing mechanical energy dissipation ductility. Therefore, this multilevel endow both toughness. Besides, rapid dynamic exchange in enable have good sustainability environmental tolerance, respectively. As result, exhibit (18.5 MPa), outstanding toughness (work debonding 29692 N m −1 ), chemical/physical recyclability, reliability (humidity, water, high/ultralow temperature, organic solvents). This work provides strategy for balancing strength, toughness, adhesives.

The regulation of topological structure covalent adaptable networks (CANs) remains a challenge for epoxy CANs. Here, we report strategy to develop strong and tough supramolecular thermosets with rapid reprocessability room-temperature closed-loop recyclability. These were constructed from vanillin-based hyperbranched resin (VanEHBP) through the introduction intermolecular hydrogen bonds dual dynamic bonds, as well formation intramolecular cavities. structures confer remarkable energy dissipation capability thermosets, leading high toughness strength. Due imine exchange reversible noncovalent crosslinks, can be rapidly effectively reprocessed at 120 °C within 30 s. Importantly, efficiently depolymerized room temperature, recovered materials retain structural integrity mechanical properties original samples. This may employed design tough, recyclable practical applications.

Abstract Adhesives are indispensable in both daily household applications and advanced industrial settings, where they must deliver exceptional bonding performance. Ionogel adhesives, which feature a supporting polymer network infused with ionic liquid (IL), have emerged as promising candidates due to their unique structural functional properties. The presence of species within ionogels promotes non‐covalent interactions—such bonds, ion‐dipole interactions, hydrogen bonding—that enhance cohesion the material adhesion various substrates. These characteristics make ideal for that require robust adhesive performance, especially demanding environments. Despite growing interest ionogel comprehensive review latest advancements this area is lacking. This paper aims fill gap by categorizing adhesives based on composition discussing strategies Additionally, novel designed specific highlighted. Finally, current state research summarized, offers insights into challenges future opportunities development adhesives.
