Abstract This study used a controlled environment to explore the post-deposition treatment (PDT) effects on CuInGaSe 2 (CIGSe ) semiconducting thin films using non-vacuum spin-coating technique for doping CIGSe layers with Cs and Rb. The structural characterization confirmed successful deposition of chalcopyrite structures no phases belonging any alkali metals after PDT, crystallite sizes in range between 40–67 nm, slight change x-ray Diffraction peak positions indicating from copper-rich copper-poor phases. morphological studies increase grain PDT. energy-dispersive spectroscopy chemical showed that there is reduction copper content topographical surface morphology modifications parameters. In addition, electrical significant effective carrier mobility treatments, consistent size observed by both microscopic (scanning electron microscope AFM) studies. Raman A1 optical phonon mode CIGS peaks at lower frequencies ordered vacancy compounds (OVCs). deconvolution broad their PDT formation alk-InSe OVC top absorber layer.
