Abstract Organic protective coatings encounter significant challenges in the face of mechanical damage, weathering degradation, and corrosion activities. Developing that feature both autonomous damage reporting enhanced durability is a promising yet challenging endeavor. In this study, inspired by “damage coloration” lurid bolete, multifunctional smart coating integrating color/fluorescence reporting, resistance, active protection capabilities developed incorporating microcapsules encapsulated with crystal violet lactone (CVL) cerium oxide (CeO 2 ) nanoparticles into polyurethane (PU) resins. CVL, damage‐reporting indicator exhibiting color fluorescence emission, within PU/poly‐(urea formaldehyde) (PU/UF) microcapsules. CVL released from upon localized enhancement under UV irradiation an intense blue coloration resulting chromogenic reaction CeO nanoparticles. addition to initiating confer outstanding resistance matrix through their absorption inhibition properties. The performance improvement composite terms verified situ transmittance testing real‐time atmospheric monitoring.
