Metasurfaces have emerged as a rapidly evolving frontier in the fields of optics and photonics, with growing emphasis on their potential for practical applications. The considerable volume contributions to study metasurfaces has expanded, creating challenges tracking all advancements within this dynamic field. In review, we select practically useful among diverse studied so far. We refer selected hot research topics at beginning, succeedingly outline status several applications that are nearing applications, then focus biosensing particular attention metasurface fluorescence (FL) biosensors, because FL detection is major approach bioscience biotechnology. However, by biosensors not been reviewed an extensive comprehensive manner. Indeed, demonstrated capability detecting wide range biomolecules including nucleic acids proteins, such antigens antibodies. Notably, they offer enhanced sensitivity assays reduced assay time when compared conventional commercial assays. here provide focused review current future directions biosensors.
