Allenyl silanes and boronates are pivotal building blocks in organic synthesis. Nevertheless, their synthesis requires the manipulation of transition metal or highly reactive species. Hence, development more sustainable protocol is sought after. Here we show electrochemical allenyl boronic esters. This catalyst-free method proceeds under mild reaction conditions. The for shows an excellent efficiency a good functional group tolerance. isolated yields (28 examples, 45-95% yields) without use catalyst A similar developed boronates, which obtained low to moderate (13 5-55% yields). Finally, mechanism based on oxidative generation silyl boryl radicals suggested access these classes allenes.

The hydrofunctionalizations of readily available alkenes and alkynes are one the most effective useful routes to afford diverse value-added compounds. Although traditional hydrofunctionalization strategies catalyzed by metal catalysts present convenient approaches, they also accompanied resource consumption environmental crisis. Electrosynthesis, as a renewable sustainable technology, has become cost- atom-efficient synthetic route. In this review, electrochemical-induced summarized presented. each section, electrochemical strategy access hydrogenation other (hydroboration, hydrosilylation, hydroalkylation, hydroalkoxylation, hydrocyanation, hydrocarboxylation, etc. ) products elaborated in detail separately. Finally, current challenges prospects for unsaturated carbon‒carbon (C‒C) bonds discussed briefly.

Abstract Here, we present an electrochemically induced synthesis of 9‐sulfenylarylphenanthrenes and 3’‐sulfenylarylspiro‐cyclohexa[4.5]trienones starting from o ‐alkynylbiphenyls diaryl disulfides. This method was accomplished through constant current electrolysis 10 mA in undivided cell setup by utilizing CH 3 CN as a solvent LiClO 4 electrolyte at room temperature. Notably, the strategy enabled formation sulfenylphenanthrenes sulfenyl spiro cyclohexa[4.5]trienones 70%–95% yield. Scale‐up synthesis, mechanistic studies, cyclic voltammetry have also been carried out.

A palladium(II)-catalyzed Markovnikov hydroboration of aryl alkenes with readily available bis(pinacolato)diboron (B2pin2) is reported. The reaction proceeded low catalyst loading (0.5 mol %) in the absence N- or P-containing ligands, affording products up to 90% yield. Trifluoracetic acid serves as hydrogen source, enabling synthesis benzylic boronic esters under mild ambient conditions.
