Abstract
Halogenation
is
one
of
the
most
important
transformations
in
organic
synthesis.
Halogenated
compounds
are
employed
many
reactions
to
prepare
useful
molecules.
Many
methods
have
been
developed
introduce
halogens
into
different
compounds.
Visible
light‐mediated
efficient,
low‐toxic,
and
mild‐condition
applied
for
various
chemistry
transformations.
Remarkably,
there
has
an
increasing
development
application
visible
light‐induced
halogenation
recent
years.
Herein,
we
present
a
comprehensive
summary
including
chlorination,
bromination,
iodination
under
light
irradiation

A
visible-light
photoredox
[3
+
2]
cycloaddition
reaction
of
arylidenecyclopropanes
with
olefins
was
developed,
employing
the
readily
available
and
commercially
accessible
TMSN3
as
an
efficient
radical
mediator.
This
method
provides
a
convenient
route
to
arylidenecyclopentanes
from
starting
materials,
is
metal-free,
features
enhanced
atom
step
economy,
excellent
selectivity,
extensive
substrate
versatility,
favorable
functional
group
compatibility,
structural
diversity,
mild
conditions,
which
further
enable
late-stage
diversification.
DFT
calculations
elucidated
that
this
transformation
entails
sequential
generation,
addition,
ring-opening,
cyclization,
elimination
steps.

Abstract
Polycyclic
indoles
are
prevailed
in
natural
products,
pharmaceuticals
and
biologically
active
compounds.
Herein
is
described
photo‐induced
difluoromethylation‐cyclization
of
N
‐alkene
tethered
to
synthesis
tetrahydropyrido[1,2‐
a
]indole
using
5‐((difluoromethyl)sulfonyl)‐1‐phenyl‐1H‐tetrazole
as
CF
2
H
radical
source.
This
photochemical
reaction
tolerates
an
array
functional
groups
like
ester,
cyano,
ketone,
halide,
ether,
aldehyde
heteocycles.
Mechanistic
experiments
indicated
that
the
difluoromethyl
single
electron
transfer
were
involved.
