Abstract The extracellular matrix (ECM) plays a critical role in cancer progression by influencing tumor growth, invasion, and metastasis. This review explores the emerging therapeutic strategies that target ECM as novel approach treatment. By disrupting structural biochemical interactions within microenvironment, ECM-targeted therapies aim to inhibit overcome resistance. We examine current state of research, focusing on key components such collagen, laminin, fibronectin, periostin, hyaluronic acid, their roles biology. Additionally, we discuss challenges associated with therapies, including drug delivery, specificity, potential side effects, while highlighting recent advancements future directions. underscores ECM-focused enhance efficacy existing treatments contribute more effective therapies.
