Abstract Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have recently become one of the most encouraging thin-film photovoltaic (PV) technologies due to their superb characteristics, such as low-cost and high power conversion efficiency (PCE) low photon energy lost during light electricity. In particular, planer PSCs attracted increasing research attention thanks advantages, like hysteresis elimination, large-scale production processability, having a certified PCE over 26%. However, there are still some challenges development these cells. To optimize improve performance PSCs, simulation analysis is essential experimental study. This review intensively describes discusses numerical modeling, simulation, optimization methods direct n–i–p PSCs. paper classifies reviewed works based on which PSC’s layers engineered provides specific comments for each addition, this study reviews other types including inverted p–i–n structures charge transport layer-free configurations. Finally, with critical outlook currently existing possible opportunities, helpful guidelines proposed further improvements.
