Abstract
This
review
focuses
on
recent
advancements
regarding
mechanoresponsive
functions
of
diacetylene
(DA)
and
polydiacetylene
(PDA).
Their
ability
to
undergo
pronounced
topochemical
polymerization
chromatic
behavior
variations
in
response
external
stimuli
has
marked
them
as
a
promising
platform
for
chemo-
bio-sensing
over
the
past
few
decades.
Notably,
major
advances,
showcasing
selective
highly
sensitive
mechanoresponses
along
with
their
quantitative
analysis,
have
been
achieved
years.
The
categorization
includes
DAs
undergoing
pressure-controlled
crystalline
transitions
polymerization,
well
PDAs
exhibiting
mechanochromic
or
mechanofluorochromic
transitions.
Accordingly,
this
covers
molecular
designs
allowing
mechanical
activation
nanostructured
hybridized
amplifying
stimulus-optical
feedback,
nanoscopic
analytical
tools
mechanochromism,
potential
applications
mechanochemical
sensing
imaging.

Abstract
In
this
study,
we
show
that
doping
lanthanides
into
lamellar
crystals
reorganizes
the
structure
and
dramatically
changes
crystal
morphology.
Azo-DA
,
a
compound
with
azobenzene
derivatives
carboxylic
acids
at
both
ends
of
diacetylene
moiety,
formed
plate-like
crystals.
The
holmium
(Ho),
lanthanide,
film
obtained
by
stacking
crystals,
promoted
dramatic
change
in
morphology,
resulting
formation
an
Azo-DA/Ho
radial
structure.
A
detailed
investigation
growth
process
revealed
which
is
slightly
solution
phase
during
Ho
doping,
acts
as
pseudonucleating
agent
morphology
Additionally,
morphological
films
significantly
changed
surface
properties
films,
such
their
appearance
water
repellency.
Similar
were
induced
when
other
lanthanide
elements
