Abstract Stimuli‐responsive polymers have found applications as shape‐memory materials, optical switches, and sensors, but the installation of these responsive properties in non‐polar inert polyolefins is challenging. In this contribution, a series spiropyran (SP)‐based comonomers are synthesized copolymerized with ethylene or ethylene/cyclic monomers. addition to great mechanical surface properties, functionalized responded light, heat, force, which induced changes polymer structure transmit color signals. These interesting also installed commercial polyolefin materials through reactive extrusion, making scalable production possible.

Abstract With exceptional photochromic and photoluminescent properties, spiropyrans have demonstrated significant potential for advanced information encryption anti‐counterfeiting applications. However, its inherent water insolubility leads to incompatibility with aqueous polymers, even more, ease of leaching from the matrix hinders formation stable stimuli‐responsive platforms through direct blending all polymers. Here, fabrication amphiphilic spiropyran‐octapeptide molecules is reported that can spontaneously self‐assemble into highly water‐dispersible supramolecular nanofibers in water. These assemblies exhibit universal polymer compatibility while retaining rapid photo‐responsiveness spiropyrans. The strong interactions between assembly chains ensures long‐term stability resultant materials environments. fully preserve base polymers’ processing silk fibroin as offering opportunities constructing photo‐responsive various forms (e.g., films, gels, fibers, coatings) multiple functionalities using diverse solution techniques. This work bulky steric hindrance electron donating groups, which were used coordination temperatures. These exhibited activity excellent thermal stability 150°C, producing polyethylene molecular weight up 102.7 × 10 4 g mol −1 . More importantly, these can range 120°C, improving surface properties

Stimuli-responsive polymers have garnered significant attention for their ability to adapt environmental changes, offering applications in sensing, smart coatings, and adaptive devices. However, challenges remain developing multifunctional that combine dynamic responsiveness with robust mechanical properties. In this study, we design synthesize azobenzene-based copolymers, poly(thiourea triethylene glycol)-co-azobenzene (PTUEG3-co-Azo) through a controlled polycondensation process address these limitations. The flexible PTUEG3 backbone, its strong hydrogen-bonding networks, is combined azobenzene moieties impart thermal isomerization, acid-base responsiveness, enhanced adhesion performance. groups exhibited thermally induced cis-to-trans leading structural reorganization, increased molecular packing, elevated glass transition temperatures (Tg). Additionally, the demonstrated reversible undergoing distinct repeatable color changes upon protonation deprotonation. By balancing flexibility of backbone rigidity groups, PTUEG3-co-Azo copolymers achieved performance tunable 4 : 1 composition superior adhesive strength, attributed synergistic effects hydrogen bonding azobenzene-induced reorganization under activation. These results present as versatile material, bridging gap between robustness, potential adhesives, functional coatings.
