Abstract Utilizing intermolecular hydrogen‐bonding interactions stands for an effective approach in advancing the efficiency and stability of small‐molecule acceptors (SMAs) polymer solar cells. Herein, we synthesized three SMAs (Qo1, Qo2, Qo3) using indeno[1,2‐ b ]quinoxalin‐11‐one (Qox) as electron‐deficient group, with incorporation a methylation strategy. Through crystallographic analysis, it is observed that two Qox‐based methylated (Qo2 exhibit multiple hydrogen bond‐assisted 3D network transport structures, contrast to 2D structure gem‐dichlorinated counterpart (Qo4). Notably, Qo2 exhibits stronger compared Qo3. Consequently, PM6 : device realizes highest power conversion (PCE) 18.4 %, surpassing efficiencies devices based on Qo1 (15.8 %), Qo3 (16.7 Qo4 (2.4 %). This remarkable PCE can be primarily ascribed enhanced donor‐acceptor miscibility, more favorable medium structure, efficient charge transfer collection behavior. Moreover, demonstrates exceptional thermal stability, retaining 82.8 % its initial after undergoing annealing at 65 °C 250 hours. Our research showcases precise methylation, particularly targeting formation tune crystal packing patterns, represents promising strategy molecular design stable SMAs.

Abstract Nonfused ring electron acceptors (NFREAs) are promising candidates for future commercialization of organic solar cells (OSCs) due to their simple synthesis. Still, the power conversion efficiencies (PCEs) NFREA‐based OSCs have large room improvement. In this work, by merging end group halogenation and side chain engineering, we developed four A–D–A'–D–A type NFREAs, which refer as EH‐4F, C4‐4F, EH‐4Cl, C4‐4Cl. Single crystal X‐ray diffraction revealed that multiple intermolecular S···F interactions between cyclopentadithiophene 5,6‐difluoro‐3‐(dicyanomethylene)indanone could cause an unfavorable dimer formation, leading ineffective π–π stackings in EH‐4F whereas no such was found EH‐4Cl C4‐4Cl after replacing with 5,6‐dichloro‐3‐(dicyanomethylene)indanone. Moreover, although shorter n ‐butyl resulted a closer molecular packing C4‐4Cl, (2‐ethylhexyl substitution) proper crystallinity exhibited enhanced face‐on orientation thin film, is favorable vertical charge transport further reducing recombination. As result, PCE 13.0% obtained EH‐4Cl‐based OSC fill factor 0.70. This work highlights importance control toward high‐performance NFREAs.

Abstract High power conversion efficiency (PCE) and mechanical robustness are prerequisites for wearable applications of organic solar cells (OSCs). However, stretchability present active systems (i.e., crack‐onset strain (COS) < 30%) should be improved. While introducing elastomers into is considered a simple method improving stretchability, the inclusion typically results in decrease PCE OSC with limited enhancement due to lack interconnected electrical pathways. In this study, it developed efficient intrinsically stretchable (IS)‐OSCs exceptional robustness, by constructing co‐continuous networks conjugated polymers (D18) (SEBS) within layers. It demonstrated that blend film specific ratio (40:60 w/w) D18:SEBS crucial forming structures, establishing well‐connected channels. Consequently, D18 0.4 :SEBS 0.6 /L8‐BO OSCs achieve 16‐times higher (COS = 126%) than based on D18/L8‐BO 8%), while achieving 4‐times (12.13%) compared SEBS‐rich layers (D18 0.2 0.8 /L8‐BO, 3.15%). Furthermore, ‐based IS‐OSCs preserve 86 90% original PCEs at 50% after 200 stretching/releasing cycles 15% strain, respectively, demonstrating highest among reported IS‐OSCs.
