Abstract Polyimide (PI) is a promising engineering plastic but difficult to recycle due its aromatic heterocyclic structures, especially for thermosetting PI. Herein, an ingenious cascade pathway high‐value and full recovery of PI under mild conditions presented. Specifically, the imide ring first broken through aminolysis degrade reconstructed following hydrolysis achieve excellent thermal stability in subsequent products. When recycling thermoplastic PI, yield 91% 82% appears diamines polyhydroxylated compounds, respectively. As focusing on aside from efficient diamines, crosslinked component converted into hyperbranched flame retardant carbonizers preparing copolyester, it correspondingly achieves good effect with addition merely 4 wt.%. The success this work capitalizes unique structure properties raw material, stimulating innovative pathways field thermoset waste new material design.
