Photofunctional nanomaterials have shown great potential in biomedical applications due to their unique optical properties and size effects. This chapter focuses on "General Introduction Background of Nanomaterials Biomedical Applications." First, a brief introduction is given, describing basic importance various fields. Secondly, the concepts photofunctional physicochemical effects under light conditions, such as photothermal effect, photoluminescence, photovoltaic photochemical are presented. Next, an overview nanobiomedicine presented, highlighting for applications. Then, different types nanomaterials, including fluorescent, photothermal, photodynamic, photoelectrochemical photoacoustic discussed detailed classification fields bioimaging, antimicrobial, oncological diagnosis treatment, biodetection sensing discussed. Finally, current research results summarized future development field envisaged.
