Defect passivation is crucial to enhancing the performance of perovskite solar cells (PSCs). In this study, we successfully synthesized a novel organic compound named DPPO, which consists double phosphonate group. Subsequently, incorporated DPPO into solution. The presence P═O group interacting with undercoordinated Pb2+ yielded film superior crystallinity, greater crystal orientation, and smoother surface. Additionally, addition can passivate defect states enhance upper layer energy level alignment, will improve carrier extraction prevent nonradiative recombination. Consequently, an impressive champion efficiency 24.24% was achieved minimized hysteresis. Furthermore, DPPO-modified PSCs exhibit enhanced durability when exposed ambient conditions, maintaining 95% initial for 1920 h at average relative humidity (RH) 30%.

Abstract Interfacial defects are one of the main origins hysteresis effect and limit efficiency light stability perovskite solar cells (PSCs). Herein, authors propose to grant hole‐transport materials’ (HTMs) improved isotropic coordination defect passivation through simple halogenation, enabling a robust perovskite/hole‐transport layer interface while avoiding use an external layer. First‐principles simulations experimental results show that halogenated HTMs offer more sites for Pb 2+ ions than halogen‐free ones, thus providing enhanced passivating ability regardless their molecular orientation at surface films. Consequently, PSCs based on chlorinated spiro[fluorene‐9,9′‐xanthene]‐based HTM suppressed nonradiative recombination, delivering remarkable open‐circuit voltage ( V OC ) enhancement (from 1.07 1.14 V) minimal index as low 0.07%. The corresponding also much stability, retaining 81% initial after 1000 h continuous illumination maximum power point. This work demonstrates solid capability with is critical forming improving PSCs’ stability.
