ABSTRACT Synthetic helical polymers have gained tremendous attention due to their superior efficiency in mimicking the complex self‐assembly “helix” of biological systems. Prolinate‐based chiral polyelectrolytes bearing chloride counter anion (poly‐(L‐)‐Pro‐Cl) is circular dichroism (CD) silent and exist as random coils. For instance, same polymer with methoxide (poly‐(L‐)‐Pro‐OMe) shows CD response preferred‐handed sense. Here we used partial exchange a simple effective technique bring induced CD, eventually sense poly‐(L‐)‐Pro‐Cl. Even 1 mol% exchange, obtained copolymer poly‐(L‐)‐Pro‐Cl 0.99 ‐ co ‐poly‐(L‐)‐Pro‐OMe 0.01 showed CD. The 0.50 50 exchanged, identical that poly‐(L‐)‐Pro–OMe. In exchange‐induced copolymers, methoxide‐containing units act sergeants chloride‐containing soldiers. Through “sergeants‐ soldiers‐like effect,” reactions trigger into chains. analysis provided strong support for study. Three-dimensional (3-D) π-conjugated-polymer-containing nanostructures of well-controlled composition/dimension exhibit promising applications in fields from nanomedicine to microelectronics. However, it remains a great challenge easily and efficiently prepare hierarchical 3-D controlled manner. In this work, we develop one-step/one-pot strategy generate flower-like containing core numerous uniform nanofibers protruding the central by crystallization-driven co-self-assembly OPE9-b-P2VP56 [OPE = oligo(p-phenylene ethynylene); P2VP poly(2-vinylpyridine); subscript represents degree polymerization] poly(styrene sulfonic acid) (PSS) with direct heating–cooling protocol. It is disclosed that hydrogen bonding interactions between pyridyls −SO3H units PSS not only accelerated aggregation unimers but also led intermicellar initially formed micelles driven solvophobic effect complexes P2VP/PSS domains upon cooling. Subsequently, continued deposit exposed ends give nanostructures. By variation content mass ratio OPE9-b-P2VP56, length number can be regulated. Efficient and Selective Removal of Iodine in Aqueous Media Using Morphology-Controlled Porous Hyper-Cross-Linked Polymers DOI

Hyper-cross-linked polymers (HCPs) have demonstrated great potential for capture, catalysis, drug delivery, and energy storage attracted extensive research interest. Nevertheless, tuning their nanoscale morphology remains a challenge. Herein, we constructed series of HCPs (HCP[HaPb]) with various morphologies (nanospheres, nanorod-like, flower-like nanostructures) by controlling the molar ratios monomers hexakis(benzylthio)benzene quality. In addition, HCP[H200P3] rich nitrogen sulfur atoms showed fast adsorption rate high capacity I3– in aqueous media. The reached 98% within 5 min at liquid/solid ratio 1 mL mg–1, saturated 1.388 g g–1 was obtained 30 mg–1. Additionally, flow-through experiments revealed that an impressive removal flow 1.0 min–1. More importantly, could selectively capture presence competing anions. This work proved adsorbent highly selective has good prospects practical application I3–.
