ABSTRACT A novel mononuclear Cr(III) coordination compound, [Cr(HL)(N 3 ) 2 ], was synthesized by the reaction of CrCl ·6H O and NaN with Schiff base ligand (H L‐Cl). The ] were characterized spectroscopic methods. Single‐crystal X‐ray analysis also accomplished to confirm structure compound. According results analysis, this compound crystallizes in triclinic system P‐1 space group CrN 6 environment around ion can be described as a distorted octahedral geometry. catalytic activity investigated oxidation benzyl alcohol presence hydrogen peroxide. effects various parameters investigated, such amount catalyst, concentration oxidant, temperature solvent. show that has high stability could selectively convert into benzaldehyde. electrochemical behaviors cyclic voltammetry.

Two Zn(II) clusters were synthesized by the reaction of Zn(OAc) 2 ·2H O and 1,2‐bis(2‐hydroxy‐3‐methoxybenzylidene)hydrazine as a N 4 ‐donor Schiff base ligand in 1:3 molar ratio. The methanol gave yellow‐brown needle crystals, while block yellow crystals achieved mixture methanol:water (50:50 v/v). Investigation single crystal X‐ray analysis showed that solvent has considerable effect on structure composition products. In methanol, two independent pentanuclear with same general formula [Zn 5 (L) (μ‐OAc) (OAc) (CH 3 OH) ] but different coordination environments around cores, bridging mode acetate ligands are present unit cell. methanol:water, cluster 1D polymer repetitive simultaneously structure. These compounds further characterized spectroscopic techniques, they used catalysts for intramolecular cycloisomerization 1,4‐diphenylbut‐3‐yn‐1‐one. results indicated these can efficiently produce 2,5‐diphenylfuran through catalytic reaction.
