H2A.Z, the most evolutionarily conserved variant of histone H2A, plays a pivotal role in chromatin remodeling and contributes significantly to gene transcription genome stability. However, H2A.Z silkworm (Bombyx mori) remains unclear. In this study, we cloned BmH2A.Z from B. mori. The open reading frame is 390 bp, encoding 129 amino acids, with confirmed molecular weight 13.4 kDa through prokaryotic expression analysis. Sequence analysis revealed that has domain closely related systemic evolution other known H2A.Zs. profile at various developmental stages mori exhibited highest level 1st instar, followed by grain stage 2nd lowest moth. transcript was observed head, relatively lower levels detected blood than tissues under consideration. addition, upregulation resulted amplified nucleopolyhedrovirus (BmNPV) genes, thus facilitating proliferation BmNPV. This study establishes foundation for investigating its participation virus-host interactions.
