Cyanobacteria are highly regarded for their nutritional value and the scientific community has shown great interest in studying biological activity bioactive compounds, especially pigments. They have a wide range of properties, making them potentially useful various health applications, including dermatology. Given growing demand natural products actives cosmetics medical sectors, these microorganisms emerged as valuable source. Therefore, this study investigated bioactivity phycoerythrin (PE) phycocyanin (PC) extracted from Nostoc sp. Spirulina on CCD-966SK cell lines, specifically focusing apoptosis, necrosis, anti-inflammatory effects, enzymatic reactions. The involved conducting bioassays human skin fibroblast line (CCD-966SK) after performing cyanobacterial culture, pigment extraction, culture. included MTT test, TNF-α IL-6 release assays, measurement collagen I III, assessment apoptosis analysis enzyme superoxide dismutase (SOD) glutathione peroxidase (GPx). cytotoxicity test results indicated that higher concentrations PE PC were associated with lower survival rates. flow cytometry confirmed significant increase necrotic cells decrease living at high both largest percentages identified 125 62.5 ppm, whereas lowest quantities reported 1000 ppm had highest II 3.91 15.63 respectively. levels ppm. released TNF-a cytokines, indicating inflammation resistance. Superoxide (GPx) malondialdehyde (MDA) showed pigments most active In conclusion, exhibited positive effects enhancing necrotic, anti-inflammatory, against line.

Novel double-layer films based on furcellaran (FUR) and gelatin (GEL) with the addition of Phytolacca americana L. (PA) extract were used as active packaging for African catfish fillets. Films PA have been shown to minimize spoilage effects, expressed odor reduction compared control samples; however, neither nor exhibited antimicrobial activity against tested groups microorganisms (fungi, lactic acid bacteria, Enterobacterales psychrotrops) or specified (E. coli, S. aureus, cerevisiae). The demonstrated antioxidant determined by DPPH, ABTS, FRAP, CUPRAC Folin–Ciocâlteu methods. Cytotoxicity analysis showed that affected cell lines (PNT2—prostate epithelial cells, HepG2—human liver HaCaT—normal human keratinocytes Nty-hori 3-1) only a small extent—the calculated IC50 values exceeded maximal concentration 500 µg/mL.
