Background: The modifiable risk factor exerting the most substantial influence on development and disease course of multiple sclerosis (MS) is cigarette smoking. Furthermore, smoking associated with a higher suffering from one or more comorbidities potentially contributes to polypharmacy. We aimed use personality tests explore health-promoting harmful patient characteristics. Objective: To investigate two important factors influencing MS – degree dependence status polypharmacy in association traits. Design: This bicentric, cross-sectional study. Methods: collected sociodemographic, clinical medical data patients ( n = 375) at German neurological clinics. participants were asked complete NEO Five-Factor Inventory (NEO-FFI) Temperament Character Inventory-Revised (TCI-R). Relationships between variables examined using correlation analyses, differences groups linear models. Current smokers also Fagerström questionnaire categorize them into mild, moderate severe dependence. Background/aim: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is chronic autoimmune disorder characterized primarily by muscle weakness and fatigue, due to autoantibodies targeting acetylcholine receptor at neuromuscular junction. In this study, we aimed evaluate non-motor symptoms in myasthenia patients compare them with disease duration, severity clinical features.Materials methods: This prospective study was conducted thirty-five healthy volunteers. Total of 35 patients, 17 women 18 men mean age 52.9±13.6 years constituted patient group. Control group consisted total participants, 23 12 46.9±12.2 years. Patient applied scales MG Foundation America classification, Composite Turkish version Quality Life 15. For functions, both controls; used the inquiry questionnaires evaluating headache, pain, depression, anxiety, sleep, physical activity, cognition, smell taste. Results: Results revealed prevalent diverse patients. Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) score degree olfactory function cinnamon significantly (p<0.05) lower than control Rate impaired MoCA degree, headache rate, Beck depression score, anxiety Pittsburgh Sleep Index (PSQI) rate poor PSQI higher group. Conclusion: conclusion, our emphasizes importance recognizing managing advocating for multidisciplinary approach care that addresses motor manifestations. By expanding understanding MG's systemic impact exploring new treatment modalities, can improve lives those living complex disorder. Further research needed elucidate pathogenic mechanisms underlying these manifestations, which will be pivotal developing more targeted effective therapeutic strategies.

In myasthenia gravis (MG), depression and anxiety have frequently been reported as comorbidities. However, little is known about personality characteristics in MG patients. We aimed to characterise traits correlate them with disease severity course. The Big Five Inventory data questionnaire was used investigate 44 patients 45 healthy controls similar age gender. 28 patients, a caregiver also available for patient assessments limit bias associated social desirability patients' responses. Patients were assessed regard premorbid (before manifestation of MG) present condition. addition, scales (Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale Beck Inventory) applied.Compared controls, showed significantly higher levels neuroticism, whereas openness extraversion lower. Agreeableness conscientiousness did not differ between groups. Neuroticism influenced by such generalization weakness, presence thymoma, bulbar involvement well duration. correlated level neuroticism but scores.A profile increased lower may contribute considerably the perception severity. It be related frequent comorbidities depression. Although increased, this characteristic increase during course disease. The indicate that muscle weakness accompanied or even complicated psychological aspects. Therefore, behavioral intervention addition specific pharmacological therapy might particular value.
