The ever-growing demands for energy supply have put great stress on environment protections. Photo-electrochemistry (PEC) is a repaid developing technique which can directly transform solar into chemical compounds and been regarded as promising strategy to solve the environmental problems. However, biggest restriction fast recombination of photo-generated charge carriers greatly limits PEC efficiency. In recent years, introducing external-field system proved be powerful method enhance performance attracted more attentions. this review, we summarized remarkable progresses in enhanced reactions including mechanical field, thermal electrical magnetic field muti-field coupling. enhancing principles different external-fields also systemically discussed. Furthermore, challenges outlook are presented.
