Abstract A tridentate trimethylstannyl substituted alkyne based on the tribenzotriquinacene (TBTQ) scaffold has been transformed into several gold(I)phosphane complexes by tin‐gold exchange. While molecular structures of gold(I) derivatives with less bulky trimethyl and dimethylphenylphosphane ligands exhibit intermolecular aurophilic interactions, sterically demanding triphenylphosphane inhibit occurrence Au⋅⋅⋅Au contacts. In addition, a hexanuclear system was synthesised terminal functionalisation hexaalkynyl TBTQ. Investigations photophysical properties TBTQ compounds revealed their luminescent character at room temperature.

Abstract Two tri‐ and two hexadentate poly‐Lewis acids (PLAs) with calyx‐like structures of C 3 symmetry containing aluminum‐ boron‐containing Lewis acidic functions were prepared by tin‐metal exchange reactions. The triply hydrosilylated [12]annulene served as basic framework. It forms a structure the stereo‐ regioselective attachment three SiMeCl 2 groups to planar [12]annulene. PLA precursors generated attaching or six trimethylstannylethynyl silicon atoms. acid introduced using reagents bis‐(bis(trimethylsilyl)methyl)aluminium hydride (HAl[CH(SiMe ) ] catecholatochloroborane (ClBCat). complexation behavior PLAs towards different bases was investigated NMR. Bases included pyridine, polydentate nitrogen‐ phosphorus‐containing bases. Additionally, molecules bidentate base captured PLAs.
