Abstract The article presents a study of the origin iridescent structural coloration in thorax Calliphoridae fly, intending to inspire this fly optical and properties interest for use industry. We carried out SEM microscopic analyses modeled using transfer matrix. results indicate that is due presence one-dimensional photonic crystal composed two alternating layers specific thickness. Microscopic analysis scanning electron microscope led conclusion. Based on these results, model was proposed describing structure as consisting chitin air. By modulating at different angles incidence, it observed colors, notably green, blue, violet, matched predictions made by modulation. These colors are result constructive interference. In addition, we band gap when exploring influence periodicity air multilayer reflection intensity. Thus, comparative emerged water with refractive index revealed consistency our model. Finally, obtained improve understanding mechanisms responsible pave way development new materials inspired nature, potential applications fields biomimetic engineering optics.

Nanochitin was developed to effectively utilize crab shells, a food waste product, and there is ongoing research into its applications. Short nanowhiskers were produced by sonicating partially deacetylated nanochitin in water, resulting significant decrease viscosity due reduced entanglement of the nanowhiskers. These self-assembled multilayered film through an evaporation technique. The macro- nanoscale structures within manipulate light, producing vibrant durable structural colors. dried cast exhibited green purple stripes extending from center edge formed interference effects multilayer structure thickness variations. Preserving colors requires maintaining low ionic strength dispersion, as higher reduces electrostatic repulsion between nanofibers, increasing potentially leading fading color. This material’s sensitivity environmental changes, combined with chitin’s biocompatibility, makes it well-suited for sensors, wherein can visually indicate freshness or spoilage. Furthermore, stable non-toxic properties offer sustainable alternative traditional dyes cosmetics, delivering vivid long-lasting
