Abstract Objective In acupuncture therapy, the accurate location of acupoints is essential for its effectiveness. The advanced language understanding capabilities large models (LLMs) like Generative Pre-trained Transformers (GPTs) and Llama present a significant opportunity extracting relations related to acupoint locations from textual knowledge sources. This study aims explore performance LLMs in acupoint-related assess impact fine-tuning on GPT’s performance. Materials Methods We utilized World Health Organization Standard Acupuncture Point Locations Western Pacific Region (WHO Standard) as our corpus, which consists descriptions 361 acupoints. Five types (“direction_of”, “distance_of”, “part_of”, “near_acupoint”, “located_near”) (n = 3174) between were annotated. Four compared: pre-trained GPT-3.5, fine-tuned GPT-4, well pretrained 3. Performance metrics included micro-average exact match precision, recall, F1 scores. Results Our results demonstrate that GPT-3.5 consistently outperformed other scores across all relation types. Overall, it achieved highest score 0.92. Discussion superior model, shown by scores, underscores importance domain-specific enhancing extraction acupuncture-related tasks. light findings this study, offers valuable insights into leveraging developing clinical decision support creating educational modules acupuncture. Conclusion effectiveness GPT locations, with implications accurately modeling promoting standard implementation training practice. also contribute advancing informatics applications traditional complementary medicine, showcasing potential natural processing.

Evidence is lacking on whether chronic pain related to the risk of cancer mortality. This study seeks unveil association between and all-cause, cancer, as well non-cancer death in patients based National Health Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) database. Cancer survivors aged at least 20 (n = 1369) from 3 NHANES (1999–2004) cycles were encompassed. Chronic determined through self-report. We employed records Death Index for determination status reason. All-cause, deaths primary outcomes. used time-dependent ROC curve assessment evaluate predictive value patients. Over a median 141-month follow-up (interquartile range: 61–201 months), 884 (64.57%) 1,369 sufferers died, which 259 (18.91%) died 625 (45.65%) other causes. Compared with non-chronic survivors, correlated elevated all-cause mortality (Hazard Ratio (HR), 1.40; 95% CI, 1.14–1.72, p 0.001) (HR, 1.75; 1.16–2.64, 0.008), primarily lasting months or more. was higher 1.38; 1.04–1.82, 0.025), no significant results found duration. Data were analyzed RevMan 5.4 Stata 15.0 software. Results Eight randomized controlled trials (RCTs) involving 550 (305 experimental group 245 control group) included. EA significantly reduced Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) scores (SMD = −0.86, 95% CI [−1.24, −0.49], p < 0.001), Severity (ISI) −1.14, [−1.59, −0.69], latency (SL) −0.48, [−0.73, −0.23], disturbance (SDB) −0.44, −0.16], 0.002). also lowered Hospital Anxiety Depression Scale-Anxiety (HADS-Anxiety) −0.59, [−0.91, −0.26], 0.001) Scale-Depression (HADS-Depression) −0.73, [−1.06, −0.40], while increasing total time (TST) 0.65, [0.14, 1.17], 0.013). No significant differences observed Athens Scale (AIS), duration (SD), efficiency (SE), quality (SQ) between groups. Conclusion shown promising potential insomnia by reducing disturbances.
