Two novel groups of rod-like homologue molecules, one group (group A) having benzothiazole-aromatic mesogenic units and the other B) with only aromatic units, were designed synthesised. Both (compounds A involve azomethine (−CH=N−), ester (−COO−), azo (−N=N−) amide (−NH−CO−) linking at different positions in their molecular structures. The structures synthesised compounds elucidated using analytical techniques (1H, 13C NMR, FT−IR, mass spectra melting points). In order to verify influence central linkages on physicothermal mesomorphic properties, types including −CH=N−, −COO-, −N=N− −NH−CO− analytically thermally investigated. Thermal analyses properties both series are discussed terms nature, comprising geometrical structure, interactions polarisability, subtle change shape effective positions. results revealed that (groups showed enantiotropic nematic mesophase certain temperature regions except A4 A6. type some was theoretically investigated if theoretical calculations show an agreement experimental findings.
