Abstract Reservoir quality in carbonate reservoirs is significantly influenced by diagenetic processes. Although diagenesis studied as a common reservoir damaging/enhancing process many previous studies, literature limited about the spatial modeling of processes using advanced geostatistical algorithms. In current study, 3D models main which affect Sarvak an Iranian oilfield located north Dezful Embayment were constructed geostatistics. According to petrographic total 10 microfacies identified. addition, significant this include dolomitization, cementation, dissolution, and compaction. electrofacies determined “multi-resolution graph clustering” method based on quantitative results studies. The provided average maps used investigate lateral variation those properties their relationship with effective porosity. It shows that trends secondary porosity velocity deviation log (VDL) are generally correlatable confirming impact dissolution enhancement. most observed Lower Sarvak-E2 zone where correlation coefficient 0.75. between VDL some zones high indicating effect it exceeds 0.61 Sarvak-A1 zone. occurrence has dual constructive destructive effects quality. dolomitization Sarvak-E1 Sarvak-F coefficients 0.476 − 0.456, respectively. low developing stylolites, solution seams.

Abstract This study uses a thorough grain size analysis approach to the depositional environment in Thamirabarani River basin, specifically Srivaikundam district of Tamil Nadu, India. There is significant lack research on settings and sediment features unique even though there have been numerous sediments studies conducted other river basins. Consequently, purpose this investigate habitats characteristics area. The majority 18 samples were determined be medium- fine-grained poorly sort-able after extensive using granulometric sieve methods. low-energy formation process took place largely or very sandy soil, as indicated by platykurtic mesokurtic morphologies. within region can better understood classifying soil based ternary plots clay, silt, sand, such particle distribution curve. Furthermore, comparison with unified classification chart aids further categorizing types. Soils classified different landscapes, rivers, estuaries, beaches, aeolian terrains, use comprehensive study. Another interesting aspect basin movement deposition slow breakdown rocks, especially feldspar quartz, they move through rivers streams.

The current study uses an integrated lithofacies, optical microscopy, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) analysis to investigate the sedimentary processes, depositional architecture, reservoir rock potential of Tredian Formation’s (Mid-Triassic) mixed siliciclastic carbonate succession in Salt Trans-Indus Ranges. formation has been divided litho-stratigraphically into two components: lower Landa Member, which consists fine-grained sandstone shale, upper Khatkiara coarse-grained sandstone. Based on structures lithology, four distinct types lithofacies are identified. Two representing sandstones interbedded with shale (LF1) thick-bedded (LF2) suggestive fluvio-deltaic settings among them. Another thin-bedded (LF3) dolomite (LF4) suggest a tidal flat environment, correspondingly. petrographic examination indicates lithology ranging from sub-feldspathic arenite feldspathic moderate packing. presence primary calcite cement, silica iron oxide/hydroxide cements were shown by diagenetic investigation, was supported SEM studies. In addition, secondary include ferroan-dolomite, chlorite, illite, is linked chemical alteration unstable grains. paragenetic sequence depicts evolution early late phases. quality LF1 LF4 destroyed early-stage cementation, but LF2 LF3 have strong owing scarcity dissolution feldspar grains, grain fracture.

This study presents a thorough analysis of the sedimentology, diagenesis, and sequence stratigraphy Middle Jurassic Samana Suk Formation in Hazara Basin northern Pakistan. Focusing on two sections, namely Mera Rehmat Por Miana, research aims to unravel complex geological processes within formation. The examination microfacies reveals nine distinct depositional textures, ranging from mudstone wackestone, packstone, grainstone, indicating various inner ramp environments such as open marine, lagoon, coastal settings. Petrographic investigations shed light diagenetic processes, including micritization, cementation, dissolution, compaction, neomorphism, dolomitization. Six cementation types are identified, dolomitization patterns vary, providing insights into lagoonal replacement. Sequence stratigraphic uncovers intriguing Formation. high-stand system tract is characterized by mudstones, pelloidal grainstones, dolomitized periods high sea level. In contrast, transgressive displays ooidal packstones, pel-bioclastic representing transgression inundation previously exposed areas. A significant finding impact diagenesis reservoir quality parameters, specifically porosity, permeability. Diagenetic types, have significantly altered pore network, highlighting importance considering assessing hydrocarbon reservoir. provides comprehensive understanding findings contribute our knowledge similar carbonate reservoirs globally, enhancing exploration development resources comparable environments.
