Vanadium(V) contaminated soil is abundant in iron(Fe) oxides due to co-occurrence of V and Fe bearing minerals. However, biogeochemical transformation redox-active soil, the bacteria involved, has remained less investigated. This study explored extent which microbial mediated organic decomposition coupled Fe(III) reduction contributed V(V) release/reduction V-contaminated paddy under different amendments. Soil flooding decreased toxic reducible while increased oxidizable V. Glucose straw promoted release with temporarily increasing concentration by 73.59-106.34 mg/kg compared control treatment subsequently decreasing concentrations eventually similar treatment. Biochar incorporation glucose amendments moderately alleviated release. The significantly positive correlation between Fe(II) during solubilization process indicated a temporal coupling Clostridium Massilia reductive dissolution release, Anaeromyxobacter, Sphingomonas, Bryobacter, Acidobacteriaceae Anaerolineaceae reduction. provides deeper understanding biotransformation C cycling suggests remediation strategy for soils via regulating weaken or promote
