Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) is a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by insulin resistance and β-cell dysfunction. A hallmark of T2DM pathology the accumulation toxic amyloid polypeptides in around pancreatic islet cells, leading to progressive loss populations. Human polypeptide (hIAPP), also known as amylin, 37-amino acid peptide hormone primarily produced β-cells. hIAPP aggregation formation are strongly correlated with death disease severity patients. This article aims review current research progress on correlation between T2DM, focusing molecular mechanisms potential therapeutic strategies. We conducted comprehensive literature covering recent studies structure, physiological function, pathological hIAPP. Key areas include biosynthesis, monomer fiber structures. Additionally, we examined hIAPP-induced death, including oxidative stress (OS), endoplasmic reticulum (ERS), impaired cell membrane mitochondrial functions, inflammatory factors. Our highlights critical role pathogenesis T2DM. Specifically, found that biosynthesis structure contribute its while forms fibers, contributing OS, ERS, factors play significant roles death. There strong approaches using small molecule inhibitors prevent fibrosis discussed. Understanding provides insights into targets preventive Future should focus developing more effective treatments targeting downstream effects.

This study aimed to investigate the associations between chrononutrition profile, social jet lag (SJL) with obesity-related indicators (body mass index (BMI), waist circumference (WC), waist-to-height ratio (WHTR), and percentage of body fat (PBF)). cross-sectional was conducted among college students in a university Hunan Province, China, from 14 September 2023 8 June 2024. employed Chrononutrition Profile – Questionnaire (CP-Q) along physical examinations. SJL defined as time difference midpoint sleep workdays freedays. Sleep-corrected (SJLsc) is absolute onset on free days workdays. Average evening latency last meal day bedtime. Eating eating window Logistic regression utilized assess SJL, students. A total 805 participants were recruited, which 695 have complete data after excluding those who did not meet inclusion criteria. After adjusting for potential covariates, average <4 h related lower risk high BMI, WC, PBF [OR (95% CI) = 0.435 (0.285–0.663), 0.508 (0.305–0.848), 0.564 (0.402–0.792), respectively]. >12 associated 0.511 (0.327–0.800), 0.485 (0.277–0.851), 0.651 (0.456–0.930), Last occasion >1 higher 1.554 (1.018–2.371)]. SJLsc > 1 1.527 (1.073–2.174)]. Circadian rhythm disruptions, including lag, are prevalent Long window, short latency, low obesity, while duration, larger obesity youths.

Objectives: Obesity is linked to numerous severe health conditions, including type 2 diabetes mellitus, heart disease, hypertension, and stroke. This study aimed compare metabolic parameters anthropometric measurements between male female patients with obesity identify gender-based differences in obesity-related markers. Methods: prospective enrolled 393 obese (52 male, 341 female) from an outpatient clinic. After overnight fast (8-10 hours), blood samples were collected assess a range of parameters: complete count, fasting glucose, insulin, Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c), Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Alanine (ALT), Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), total cholesterol, triglycerides, Low-density lipoprotein (LDL), High-density (HDL), 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 (25OHD3), ferritin, iron, B12. Homeostatic Model Assessment Insulin Resistance (HOMA-IR) Body Mass Index (BMI) calculated, while soft lean mass (SLM) percent body fat (PBF) also analyzed. Results: Males had significantly higher levels HOMA-IR, 25OHD3, hemoglobin, hematocrit, urea, ALT compared females (P<0.05 for all). Conversely, males lower HDL platelet (P<0.05). The prevalence thyroid disease was (P=0.027). Conclusions: Thyroid males. Additionally, such as urea elevated females,

Abstract Chrononutrition is the field of nutritional science that investigates relationship between food intake, timing and their effects influence on circadian rhythms overall health. By aligning eating patterns with body's internal clock, optimisation metabolic processes, improvements various aspects health can be achieved. Cardiovascular (CV) diseases remain leading cause morbidity mortality worldwide. Notably, in US alone, approximately half all cardiometabolic deaths are attributed to modifiable dietary factors, suggesting changes could result dramatic increases lifespan its related quality life. Social media have also a great impact chrononutrition role cannot neglected. The social multifaceted: information dissemination, habits, digital detox challenges, cultural jet lag. This special issue will provide novel insights clarifications chrononutrition, but additional controversial topics. articles we selected should promote future preclinical clinical studies ultimately identify most appropriate approaches reduce unacceptable high burden CV diseases.

This study investigates the relationship between dietary habits and metabolic health among women, emphasizing role of anthropometric parameters as proxies for insulin resistance. We analyzed data from 443 women categorized into two groups based on presence or absence clinically diagnosed Our assessments included quality, socio-demographic characteristics, a series measurements such body weight, Body Mass Index (BMI), Waist-Hip Ratio (WHR), Abdominal Volume (AVI), Adiposity (BAI). The results indicated significant disparities in these parameters, with insulin-resistant group exhibiting higher average weight (78.92 kg vs. 65.04 kg, p < 0.001), BMI (28.45 kg/m2 23.17 kg/m2, other related measures, suggesting strong influence patterns composition risk. underscores importance management addressing resistance, advocating personalized strategies to improve outcomes women. approach highlights need integrating changes lifestyle modifications considerations combat risks effectively.
