Abstract
Purpose
Binge‐eating
disorder
(BED)
in
adolescents
and
young
adults
is
underrecognized
understudied
no
standardized
guidelines
exist
for
medical
providers
caring
this
population.
To
highlight
the
lack
of
extant
evidence,
we
examine
demographic
characteristics
youth
with
BED
an
academic
eating
disorders
(EDs)
program
primary
care
clinic
describe
needs
their
providers.
Method
A
retrospective
chart
review
was
conducted
patients
who
met
criteria
from
July
2021
to
June
2022.
We
surveyed
understand
multidisciplinary
team
expertise
EDs

evidence

protocolized
schema

Background
Racial
and
ethnic
discrimination
are
known
stressors
associated
with
negative
psychological
physical
health
outcomes.
Previous
studies
have
found
relationships
between
racial/ethnic
binge-eating
disorder
(BED),
though
they
mainly
focused

adult
populations.

was

in

cohort
