Papaya is a tropical fruit that highly appreciated worldwide for its organoleptic properties and nutritional medicinal value. The optimal quality market requirements determined by genotype, environmental conditions, crop management, as well handling at harvest adequate postharvest conservation. aim of this work was to determine the maturity stage, based on skin color, which papayas grown in Mediterranean greenhouses with active climate control south-east Spain, depending season. We confirm it possible produce high-quality our but stage each season, along storage capacity, vary throughout year, even control. Thus, 10% yellow color (S0) harvesting autumn, mainly due better conservation capacity firmness, having high TSS content (>11 °Brix). In summer spring, lower discourages S0, S1 (30–40% color) or S2 (50–60% being stages ensure minimum required papaya commercialization (10 any case, produced under conditions are generally rated consumers.

Papaya cultivation is considered to be one of the most important fruit-growing activities in Cameroon, and plays a vital role improving livelihoods local producers. However, leaf diseases caused by devastating fungi are real obstacle development this crop. The aim study was evaluate antifungal potential Cymbopogon citratus essential oil against Alternaria alternata Phomopsis carica-papayae, fungal agents associated with deterioration papaya leaves Moungo region Cameroon. fresh C. extracted hydrodistillation. Analysis chemical composition GC then GC/MS revealed Geranial (45.24%), Neral (35.57%) Myrcene (7.21%) as majority compounds. In vitro tests on mycelial growth incorporation into agar gave MICs 900 ppm 700 A. P. carica-papayae respectively. MIC proved fungicidal P. carica papayae, while for effect obtained at concentration ppm. situ, significantly active inhibiting necrosis conidial complex two pathogens leaves, percentage inhibition 85.93% 6000 EO could therefore used an alternative fungicides fight disease pathogens.
