Oxidative addition of PC(H)P pincer ligands at late transition metals typically occurs via C–H activation in the 2-position ligand, yielding [(PCP)MHX] type complexes (X = monoanionic ligand). We present formation dinuclear Ir(III) complex [(iPrPSCSPiPr)Ir(H)(MeCN)2]2[OTf]2 as a rare example meta-C–H ligand.
