Open-pit mining often exposes weak rock layers, the strength of which significantly affects stability slopes. If these layers are also prone to disintegration and expansion, cyclic rainfall can exacerbate instability. Rainfall-induced changes in seepage field indirectly threaten Therefore, investigating characteristics mudstone limestone impact on slope instability under different wet–dry cycles is great significance for safe open-pit mines. Mine slope landslides can lead to significant geological disasters. To investigate the impact of temperature cycling on internal mechanisms that trigger these disasters in weak interlayers with varying moisture contents, a THMC-B multi-field coupled simulation device was employed conduct shear creep tests carbonaceous mud shale contents across 16 cycles (ranging from −5 °C 65 °C). Based observed characteristics and related patterns, rheological constitutive model for established characterize damage effects at different during cycling. The experimental results indicate following: under conditions, an increase content rapidly reduces mechanical properties shale, rendering it more susceptible shearing same failure stress level consequently shortening overall time; higher prolongs duration deceleration stage shale; improved accurately represents entire process fitting coefficients exceeding 0.95. These research findings provide certain references insights study mine slopes.
