Abstract To analyze which ethically relevant biases have been identified by academic literature in artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms developed either for patient risk prediction and triage, or contact tracing to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic. Additionally, specifically investigate whether role of social determinants health (SDOH) considered these AI developments not. We conducted a scoping review literature, covered publications from March 2020 April 2021. Studies mentioning on medical triage regarding were included. From 1054 articles, 20 studies finally propose typology based bias, limitations other ethical issues both areas analysis. Results disparities SDOH classified into five categories: racial disparities, biased data, socio-economic unequal accessibility workforce, information communication. needs be clinical context, where they still seem underestimated. Epidemiological conditions depend geographic location, so use local data develop international solutions may increase some biases. Gender bias was not addressed articles The main are related collection management. Ethical problems privacy, consent, lack regulation while bias-related inequalities highlighted. There is need further research focusing specific apps.
