Abstract Background Inferior Fronto-Occipital Fascicle (IFOF) is a multitasking connection bundle essential for communication and high level mentalization. The aim of the present study was to quantitatively assess its radiological-anatomical-morphometric modifications according different brain tumor histotype. Methods A retrospective multicentric Italian conducted. IFOF reconstructions were calculated both hemispheres each patient diagnosed with Glioblastoma (GBM), Low Grade Glioma (LGG), Brain Metastasis Meningioma using Elements Fibertracking software (Brainlab AG). 3D object fascicle evaluated volume, average fractional anisotropy (FA) length. cerebral healthy hemisphere compared pathological contralateral in Results 1294 patients evaluated. 156 met inclusion criteria. We found significant difference between mean length volume ( p -value < 0.001). Considering GBM subgroup, Student’s t-test confirmed results. In LGG there 2 length, FA (respectively 0.011; 0.021, affected by metastasis (18) showed 0.003 0.02 respectively). No differences meningiomas. Conclusions careful preoperative neuroradiological evaluation brain-tumor interface indispensable plan tailored surgical strategy perform safe effective technique. It depends on histology pattern growth. have mixed component, solid enhancing nodule which accounts displacement peritumoral area an infiltrative/destructive effect fascicle. determine prevalent infiltrative pattern. Metastases dislocation due oedema. Meningiomas do not impact WM anatomy.

In recent years, sonodynamic therapy (SDT) has attracted attention as a promising new approach for the treatment of high-grade gliomas, it is non-invasive form that specifically kills tumor cells with limited side effects. SDT combines low-intensity ultrasound sonosensitizer to produce cytotoxic effects in cells. 5-Aminolevulinic acid (5-ALA), an endogenous amino metabolized protoporphyrin IX (PpIX), shown promise malignant gliomas SDT. Ultrasound can penetrate deeper body regions and activate PpIX, leading increase immunogenicity induction apoptosis. This review highlights current state knowledge on mechanisms action, results preclinical, clinical ongoing studies 5-ALA-SDT discusses future benefits
