Analysis and interpretation of studies on cognitive affective dysregulation often draw upon the network paradigm, especially Triple Network Model, which consists default mode (DMN), frontoparietal (FPN), salience (SN). DMN activity is primarily dominant during leisure self-monitoring processes. The FPN peaks task involvement exertion. Meanwhile, SN serves as a dynamic “switch” between FPN, in line with demand. In domains, dysfunctions involving are connected to broad spectrum deficits maladaptive behavioral patterns variety clinical disorders, such depression, insomnia, narcissism, PTSD (in case hyperactivity), chronic pain, anxiety, high degrees neuroticism, schizophrenia, epilepsy, autism, neurodegenerative illnesses, bipolar disorder hypoactivity). This systematic review synthesizes evidence from research investigating the biological correlates of latent transdiagnostic dimensions psychopathology (e.g., p-factor, internalizing, externalizing) across lifespan. Eligibility criteria captured genomic and neuroimaging studies general and/or specific in population samples all age groups. MEDLINE, Embase, PsycINFO were searched for relevant published up to March 2023 46 selected inclusion. The results revealed several consistently associated with psychopathology, including polygenic scores ADHD neuroticism, global surface area gray matter volume. Shared unique associations between symptom are highlighted, as potential age-specific differences associations. Findings interpreted reference key methodological studies. included provide compelling that dimension reflects common underlying genetic neurobiological vulnerabilities shared diverse manifestations mental illness. Substantive interpretations context discussed.

This study explored whether amygdala reactivity predicted the greed personality trait (GPT) using both task-based and resting-state functional connectivity analyses (ntotal = 452). In Cohort 1 (n 83), magnetic resonance imaging (t-fMRI) results from a region-of-interest (ROI) analysis revealed no direct correlation between to fearful angry faces GPT. Instead, whole-brain GPT robustly negatively vary with activations in right ventromedial prefrontal cortex (vmPFC), supramarginal gyrus, angular gyrus contrast of + > shapes. Moreover, psychophysiological interaction (PPI) showed that high group weaker vmPFC seed top-down control network visual pathways when processing or compared their lower counterparts. 2, (rs-FC) indicated stronger individuals higher Comparing two cohorts, bilateral seeds associations via PPI 1. Yet, they exhibited distinct rs-FC patterns 2 (e.g., positive left amygdala-top-down FC but negative amygdala-visual pathway FC). The underscores role its understanding GPT, rather than reactivity.

Abstract The neurotic personality has an impact on the regulation of basic negative emotions such as anger, fear, and sadness. There been extensive research in search functional connectivity biomarkers neuroticism but there is a lack based effective connectivity. In current research, we intended to determine significance causal interaction three large-scale resting-state networks – default mode, salience, executive predict emotions. this study, human connectome project dataset comprising MRI scans self-reported scores 1079 subjects, was utilized. Spectral dynamic modelling parametric empirical Bayes used estimate subject-level parameters their group-level associations with emotional scores. Leave-one-out cross-validation using employed for prediction analysis. Our results heightened showed that self-connection right hippocampus can individuals high self-connections dorsal anterior cingulate cortex, posterior cortex left dorsolateral prefrontal High low sadness, any emotion category except could not be predicted triple network findings revealed (directed) connections potentially serve connectomic signature people fear.

Further, vulnerability emergence for increased when one experiences greater distress. show persistent factor symptomology.
