ABSTRACT Paris polyphylla var. yunnanensis (PPY) is a traditional and valuable Chinese medicine in China, which one of the important raw materials for many proprietary medicines, but its wild resources are scarce quality cultivated products varies. Steroidal saponins main active components PPY; order to analyze differences chemical constituents contained different parts PPY, present study was conducted characterize steroidal PPY (axial roots, stems, leaves) by ultrahigh‐performance liquid chromatography‐quadrupole time‐of‐flight tandem mass spectrometry (UHPLC‐Q/TOF‐HRMS) coupled with molecular network technology determine contents nine (tall short stalk) high‐performance chromatography photodiode array (HPLC‐PDA). The results showed that 62 were identified from there significant composition types parts, among axial roots leaves higher, while those stems lower. three specified China Pharmacopoeia (2020 edition) higher than 0.6% leaves, indicating can be used as potential sources saponins. similar tall stalks, total saponin content taller stalk. In conclusion, this points out direction resource conservation rational development provides basis comprehensive evaluation medicinal herbs screening high‐quality germplasm.
