ABSTRACT Effectively quantifying plantation forest fragmentation is crucial for vegetation restoration and management on the Loess Plateau. Forest area density (FAD) effectively measures fragmentation, with multiscale sensitivity analysis essential determining appropriate window scale threshold. This study uses data from different geomorphological types (hilly gully plateau region) of Various sizes are applied to evaluate FAD threshold curve its derivative a stable threshold, while structural equation model employed analyze drivers fragmentation.
