ABSTRACT Wind energy offers significant advantages over fossil fuels, including extensive storage and environmental sustainability. Offshore wind turbines serve as the primary technology for harnessing offshore power. However, corrosive effects of marine environment pose serious threats to their safety stability. This paper provides a comprehensive overview corrosion issues affecting steel pipe pile infrastructure, focusing on following key aspects: (1) Differentiating mechanisms under various conditions, (2) analyzing response, particularly changes in mechanical properties pile–soil interface bearing capacity foundations, (3) summarizing patterns trends processes offer theoretical insights engineering design, (4) reviewing commonly employed prevention methods respective applicability relation specific responses.
