Deciphering the most promising strategy for evolution of cancer patient management remains a multifaceted, challenging affair to date. Additionally, such approaches often lead microbial infections as side effects, probably due compromised immunity patients undergoing treatment. Distinctly, this work delineates rational combinatorial harnessing stereogenic harmony in diphenylalanine fragment, tethering it an amphiphile 12-hydroxy-lauric acid at N-terminus (compounds I-III) that potential therapeutic could be extracted out from series. Besides, supramolecular β-sheets manifest antimicrobial efficacy against pathogens, Gram-positive bacteria, S. aureus B. subtilis, Gram-negative E. coli P. aeruginosa, fungus, C. albicans, along proteolytic stability high mechanical strength physiological pH. Overall, we speculate discovery these multifunctional bioinspired materials holds future promise preferential therapeutics remediation immune-susceptible patients, afflicted arising alone or effects chemotherapeutic medications.

To develop a novel low molecular-weight organogelator, D-glucono-1,4-lactones were synthesized with all hydroxy groups esterified linear saturated fatty acids, and their gelation ability was evaluated. When acid introduced, the six-membered ring D-glucono-1,5-lactone transformed into five-membered D-glucono-1,4-lactone, regardless of length acid. However, depended on acid, compounds palmitic (16 carbons) stearic (18 showed better ability. Electron microscopy that structure xerogels varied acids. Some formed fibrous structures others plate-like crystals, building up to porous structure. In addition physical properties as an emulsification crystal polymorphism confirmed, detailed polymorphic analysis through FT-IR performed estimate intermolecular packing at molecular level.
