The most commonly used methods to chemically assess grape and wine quality with high sensitivity selectivity require lengthy analysis time can be resource intensive. Here, we developed a rapid non-destructive method that would help in grading decision support. In this work, demonstrate integrating three-dimensional (3D) material for volatile sampling mass spectrometry detection sample grapes phytosanitary, or smoke-taint assessments at low levels of marker compounds. An efficient zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) was synthesised situ on nickel foam (NF), taking advantage its ultrahigh surface area, structural diversity, functionality as an emerging nanostructured preconcentrating low-level quality-related volatiles. When sorbent thermal desorption tubes coupled directly active capillary spectrometry, the average signal across selected analytes increased by ~50% compared Tenax TA, commercially available polymer, measurement takes less than two minutes. first integration 3D materials into opens new possibilities developing architecture enhanced next-generation multifunctional instrumentation product assessment.
