This study investigated the potential acaricidal and repellent effects of tar obtained from Lebanon cedar (Cedrus libani A. Rich.) against brown dog tick species Rhipicephalus sanguineus sensu lato Latreille (Acari: Ixodidae). The goal was to find an alternative, safe, effective way eliminate ticks. Tar is traditionally extracted trees in Antalya region Türkiye. composition primarily characterized by a diverse mixture terpenes, with β-himachalene (29.16%), α-atlantone (28.7%), ar-turmerone (8.82%), longifolene-(V4) (6.66%), α-himachalene (5.28%), β-turmerone (5.12%) emerging as predominant constituents. toxic on larvae were studied through larval immersion tests (LIT), its activity evaluated using new test (LRAT). results revealed significant effects, mortality rates 77.7% 82.2% for Konyaalti Kepez strains tick, respectively, response 1% concentration tar. LC50 LC90 values determined 0.47% 1.52% strain 0.58% 1.63% strain, respectively. When comparing effect widely used synthetic DEET, repellency up 100% observed. As result, this establishes, first time, larvicidal C.

Neem leaves have long been used in traditional medicine for promoting longevity. However, the precise mechanisms underlying their anti-aging effects remain elusive. In this study, we investigated impact of neem leaf extract (NLE) extracted from a 50% ethanol solution on chronological lifespan Saccharomyces cerevisiae, revealing an extension lifespan, heightened oxidative stress resistance, and reduction reactive oxygen species. To discern active compounds NLE, LC/MS GNPS platform were employed. The majority identified found to be flavonoids. Subsequently, compound-target pharmacological networks constructed using STP STITCH platforms both S. cerevisiae Homo sapiens. GOMF KEGG enrichment analyses predicted targets revealed that “oxidoreductase activity” was among top enriched terms yeast human cells. These suggested potential regulation response (OSR) by NLE. RNA-seq analysis NLE-treated corroborated anti-oxidative effect, with “oxidation-reduction process” ranking high GO terms. Notably, CTT1, encoding catalase, emerged as most significantly up-regulated gene within cluster. ctt1 null mutant, enhanced resistance extended induced NLE nullified. For cells, pretreatment demonstrated decrease species levels senescence-associated β-galactosidase activity HeLa indicative effects. This study unveils properties while delving into mechanisms, providing novel insights interventions aging phytochemicals.
