Abstract Owing to the low heritability of reproductive traits, search for markers and their interrelationship that could indicate reproductively superior individuals is important in selection process bovine efficiency. This study aimed investigate possible interrelationships between antral follicle count (AFC), vulvar-width (VW), anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) concentrations, fertility Bos Taurus Indicus females. Brahman (Bos Taurus-Indicus, n = 126) Simmental Angus Taurus-Taurus, 155) cows were classified as having large (≥86 mm) small (<86 VW. From each group, one blood sample per animal was collected determine AMH serum concentrations. The GLIMMIX procedure SAS® used whether vulva width (VW) classes, associated or not with breed, influence age at first calving (FCA), service interval (CFSI), (CI), number services pregnancy (SP), viable oocytes (VO). Antral (AFC) (36.10 ± 1.90 vs. 22.78 1.64, VW, respectively), (1.17 0.07 0.48 0.007 ng/mL), VO (18.86 1.76 10.15 1.49) greater (P < 0.05) VW than had AFC (36.30 1.34 22.09 1.67), (106.94 15.83 69.78 14.11 mm), (1.18 0.42 0.05 ng/mL) compared taurine cows. In conclusion, an efficient predictor concentrations both genetic groups, but under conditions this trial no link be detected these variables indices studied.

Abstract Worldwide trends to delay childbearing have increased parental ages at birth. Older age may harm offspring health, but mechanisms remain unclear. Alterations in DNA methylation (DNAm) patterns could play a role as aging has been associated with changes gametes of older individuals. We meta‐analyzed epigenome‐wide associations blood DNAm over 9500 newborns and 2000 children (5–10 years old) from the Pregnancy Childhood Epigenetics consortium. In newborns, we identified 33 CpG sites 13 loci maternal (P FDR < 0.05). Eight these CpGs were located near/in MTNR1B gene, coding for melatonin receptor. Regional analysis them together differentially methylated region consisting 9 in/near , which higher was greater = 6.92 × 10 −8 ) newborns. childhood samples, differences nominally significant ( p 0.05) retained same positive direction, suggesting persistence associations. While further study is needed establish causality, particularly due small effect sizes observed, our results potentially support mechanism underlying child health.
