aktueller

auf.

Abstract
Background
Menstrual
symptoms
may
negatively
impact
pupils’
attendance
and
educational
attainment,
but
rigorous
population-based
studies
are
lacking.
Methods
In
a
prospective
cohort
study
in
England,
we
assessed
associations
of
self-reported
heavy
or
prolonged
bleeding
menstrual
pain
with
school
absences
adjusting
for
potential
confounders.
Findings
Of
2,698
participants,
36%
reported
56%
pain.
Heavy
was
associated
missing
1·7
additional
days
per
year
(16·58%;
95%
CI:

24·20),
48%
higher
odds
being
persistently
absent
(≥10%
absent)

Achieving
menstrual
health
is
fundamental
to
gender
equality,
human
rights,
and
the
well-being
of
all
people
who
menstruate.
We
undertook
a
scoping
review
map
extent
range
qualitative
studies
on
in
Nordic
countries
applied
an
intersectional
lens
reporting
findings.
The
specific
research
questions
we
aimed
answer
were

experiences
