Although the accumulated knowledge repository of Corporate Responsibility (CR) literature continues to expand, organizational- and institutional-level studies dominate field. This article addresses this gap by introducing a driver-based approach CR through moral mapping policies theory-building case in textile sector. Considering notion’s diverse stakeholder involvement cross-disciplinary nature, process tracing actors from Industrial Revolution is conducted. A reconstituted Kantian method employed assess responsibility individual agents. Employing technique, study categorizes strategies based on decision-makers most probable ethical thought processes, or “maxims”, at time decision-making. The findings identify gaps conventional practices, giving rise CSR-washed actions irresponsible corporate behavior. To tackle these challenges, we introduce Local (COLOR) model. model integrating them into its four pillars minimize dilemmas various engaging broader stakeholders local communities decision-making process.
