RNA interference (RNAi) is being used to develop methods control pests, yet its widespread application limited by the high comprehensive cost of dsRNAs. Here, we utilized identity matching between double-stranded (dsRNA) and nontarget genes achieve expanding dsRNA insecticidal spectrum. First, found that was more likely induce off-target effects in with higher transcript levels sequence identity; existence either a completely contiguous exceeding 15 nt or partially 24 can lead Tribolium castaneum. Accordingly, successfully interfered T. castaneum Laodelphax striatellus using targeted against Nilaparvata lugens. Additionally, use targeting L. effectively N. lugens, both instances resulting lethal effects. Moreover, spray method proved be efficient than rice seedling soaking deliver dsRNA. Our research offers new insights into spectrum mediated degree genes.
