Purpose The COVID-19 outbreak and severe weather challenges have disrupted the supply chains of various industries across globe, including automotive industry. purpose this study is to investigate outbound vehicle logistics practices a Chinese firm achieve value chain optimization meet order fulfillment through feasibility using blockchain technology (BCT). Design/methodology/approach To identify research gap formulate questions, detailed literature review was conducted. compare contrast process, we interviewed Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), service providers local IT vendors. BCT in case companies, conducted interviews with experts as part in-depth empirical study. Case analysis has emerged themes. Findings In-depth data suggested three important areas that needed focus from OEMs (1) handling distribution constraints; (2) ability monitor quality; (3) good communication network partners receiving real-time alerts, especially during peak demand periods. Our findings confirm can address all these presence alliance frameworks partners. Research limitations/implications scope restricted OEMs. This be extended other countries practicing same level logistics. Data collected were generated sheet which subjective some extent. Practical implications provides practical insights for practitioners on optimize performance. Originality/value paper adds into increase performance compares China developed economies.
