Technological innovation is paramount for accelerating climate change mitigation efforts within sectors characterized by low technological diffusion. This study examines the role of self-citation and novelty on impact wind energy technologies (2010–2023). Using USPTO patent data a negative binomial regression analysis, results reveal an inverse relationship between positive originality impact.
