Methyl 2-(2-oxo-2 H -chromen-4-ylamino)benzoate, C 17 13 NO 4 ( 1 ), was prepared by condensation between 4-hydroxycoumarin and methyl 2-aminobenzoate. It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pca 2 at 300 K. The molecule of compound consists -chromen-2-one part connected an amine moiety (–NH–) to benzoate ring. supramolecular array is formed hydrogen bonds aromatic ring O atoms lactone ester portions. structural details match spectroscopic data acquired from NMR IR spectroscopy.
