Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have emerged as promising electrode materials for supercapacitors (SCs) due to their highly porous structures, tunable chemical compositions, and diverse morphologies. However, applications are hindered by low conductivity poor cycling performance. A novel approach resolving this issue involves the growth of layered double hydroxides (LDHs) using MOFs efficient templates or precursors material preparation. This method effectively enhances stability, electrical conductivity, mass transport ability MOFs. The MOF-derived LDH exhibits a well-defined micro-/nano-structure, facilitating dispersion active sites preventing aggregation LDHs. Firstly, paper introduces synthesis strategies converting into Subsequently, recent research progress in LDHs encompassing pristine powders, composites, LDH-based arrays, along with SCs, is overviewed.
