Conversion of PET waste into carbon dots (CDs) is an attractive approach to plastic pollution control. However, the preparation red–yellow CDs still challenging, and methods are complex. In this study, a one-pot solvothermal method was developed for from waste. Through nitrogen source solvent screening, multicolor (blue–red) with high quantum yield (QY) were prepared. The reaction temperature catalyst dosage significantly influence production QY CDs. optimized CD showed relative 42.7%, 47.8%, red photoluminescence color. morphology, crystal structure, surface chemistry, optical performance characterized. yellow fluorescence mainly due molecular state mechanism.
